A theme is the soul of a baby shower and is quite important for setting the mood of a baby shower. Though there are lots of themes which are quite common and effective, yet choosing a right baby shower theme is a challenging task.

Teddy bears - Teddy bears are always loved by the babies and are most fascinating thing for babies. Use a teddy bear as a centerpiece, order a teddy bear cake, serve food in teddy bear shaped plates, even ask guest to bring teddy bear as a gift.

Gender based - Plan a shower according to your baby favorites i.e. if you have a baby boy use blue color and baby girl use pink color to give a feminine touch to your baby shower. Use colored punches and icing colors. Mix and match the food colors to give your shower a complimentary look.

Seasonal themes - A theme based on the seasons in which the baby is born is also an excellent idea for ex – if the baby is born in autumn decorate the baby shower with autumn leaves and use dark yellowish color.

Baby books - Use books as a centerpiece for decoration. Instructional manuals for new moms and general baby books are welcomed as a shower gift. A new mom will love the instructional manuals as it can help her bring the child.

New Mom based theme - A Theme based on new mom is just ideal to please her. You can use a spa based decoration, guest can bring a new bathrobe, spa products , henna tattoos, belly casting etc.

Baby Rhymes - Use baby rhymes books to decorate the shower. Guest can gift clothes with nursery rhymes and bring along gifts with clothes having nursery rhymes or rhymes books.
